Pets, and why we love them.

Pets, and why we love them.

One of the most common questions we get asked is if we allow pets (we do). We also had more interest in our senior apartment dog park than almost anything else in the last year. We all love pets, there's even channels on social media dedicated to them. Check out The Daily "Aww" on YouTube. It definitely a way to brighten your day. Here are some of the most common reasons pets are such a big deal.

  1. Life is definitely hectic. A result of that is often overwhelming stress. There's strong evidence that having a pet can reduce stress just by having positive interactions. Look at this post in the Washington Post where an expert describes why that is the case.

  2. There are many times when the day has just taken all your energy. Then you realize that your pet needs a little outdoor time. Even though you might not always want to get up off the couch, the exercise will help you too! Look at this blog about Why pets should be your workout buddy. Ultimately we all want to be healthy and live longer happier lives. This can be a step in the right direction. Plus, this was one of the main reason's why Jefferson Crossings built the dog park. There's nothing better than enjoying the outdoors while watching your pet do the same.

  3. It's been going on for thousands of years. If you look back throughout history all civilzations have had different types of pets. Early on, the pets were wolves then as time progressed there was an evolution into more like the dogs we have today. Celebrities and pets have also been well documented. Take a look at this Pinterest Board About 21 past celebrities and their pets.

No matter the exact reason, it's obvious that people love their pets. We're right there with you. There's nothing better than a cute animal video to start or end the day.
